About the foundation

Walking beside the children the pandemic left behind

Divyachetna Social Foundation provides care and support to children who have lost their parents. We pay school and college fees, distribute books, stationery and uniforms, and walk with each child through counselling, mentorship and career guidance – until they’re standing on their own.

माझा पती कोविडमुळे गेल्यानंतर माझी मुलगी फक्त 10 वर्षांची होती. मी पूर्णपणे खचले होते आणि पुढे काय करायचे, हेच कळत नव्हते. दिव्य चेतना फाउंडेशनने माझ्यासारख्या अनेक महिलांना एकत्र आणले. या संस्थेने माझ्या मुलीच्या शिक्षणाची जबाबदारी घेतली, मला पुन्हा उभे राहण्याची प्रेरणा दिली आणि माझ्या आयुष्यात नवी आशा निर्माण केली. त्यांच्यामुळेच आज मी स्वतःच्या पायावर उभी राहू शकते आणि माझ्या मुलीचे उज्ज्वल भविष्य घडवू शकते. याच संस्थेने माझ्यापर्यंत येऊन माझ्या दुःखातही प्रकाश दाखवला आणि मला पुन्हा हसण्याची ताकद दिली.

कोरोनाच्या काळात अनेक बायका विधवा झाल्या आणि मुलांचे शिक्षण कसे होईल, हे कळत नव्हते. नातेवाईकांनी मदत केली नाही, पण दिव्य चेतना फाउंडेशनने नवी आशा दिली. त्यांनी मुलांच्या शिक्षणासाठी मदत केली, महिला स्वावलंबी व्हाव्यात यासाठी मार्गदर्शन दिले आणि आमच्या जीवनात पुन्हा विश्वास निर्माण केला. जेव्हा समाजात कोणीही उभे राहिले नाही, तेव्हा या संस्थेने आमच्यासाठी धैर्य आणि आधार दिला. त्यांच्या मदतीमुळे आज आम्ही आपल्या पायावर उभे राहिलेलो आहोत, जीवनात पुन्हा हसत आहोत आणि भविष्यासाठी निडरपणे पुढे जात आहोत.

मी फार शिकलेली नाही, पण माझी कहाणी सांगावीशी वाटते. कोरोनाच्या काळात आमचे आयुष्य पूर्णपणे बदलून गेले. लॉकडाऊनमध्ये आमचे उत्पन्न बंद झाले आणि २०२१ मध्ये कोरोनामुळे माझ्या पतींचे निधन झाले. दोन मुलांसह पुढे काय करायचे, हा मोठा प्रश्न माझ्यासमोर होता. त्या काळात मी खूप असहाय्य आणि एकटी झाले होते. याच कठीण काळात दिव्याचेतना सोशल फाउंडेशन आमच्या आयुष्यात आधार बनून आले. त्यांनी माझ्या मुलांच्या शिक्षणासाठी मदत केली आणि मला स्वतःच्या पायावर उभे राहण्यासाठी फूड कार्ट सुरू करून दिली. आज आम्ही स्वतःच्या पायावर उभे आहोत आणि पुन्हा आयुष्याकडे आशेने पाहत आहोत. मला मिळालेल्या या दुसऱ्या संधीसाठी मी दिव्याचेतना सोशल फाउंडेशनची सदैव ऋणी राहीन.

I am an Engineer. I worked in Tata Electrical company for 14 years. Mr Brahmankar was a colleague there. But we were not in touch till the pandemic in 2020.

Mr Brahmankar reached out to me with an appeal for funds to alleviate the misery faced by children who were orphaned during the pandemic. There are numerous children who had no way to reach a semblance of normality with no parents and no financial resources. I felt that I should definitely be associated with the team who were doing such good work. Wish there were many more projects to help the less fortunate.
